UP 683 GP38-2 was originally built for Missouri Pacific as MP 2183 in January 1980, becoming UP 2183 on April 18, 1986, then renumbered to UP 683 on July 11, 2003. UP 682 GP38-2 was originally delivered to Missouri Pacific as MP 2182 in January 1980, becoming UP 2182 on July 21, 1986, then renumbered UP 682 on September 20, 2001. No frills Mopac did not order dynamic brakes on their Geeps but UP has since added cab air conditioning. |
