It seems recently they have also attracted the attention of local graffiti artists. If you search for UP 2174, which is in this line, you will see gunshot damage to the cab. I estimate there are 50 to 60 locomotives in this line. Perhaps this is the misfit bunch. |

UP 3203 SD40-2 waits for the go ahead to start pushing a long cut of cars into Davidson Yard. Electro Motive delivered this SD40-2 to Missouri Pacific as MP 3229 in August 1978 becoming UP 4229 on June 6, 1989. Due to lack of dynamic braking this diesel was renumbered UP B4229 SD40-2B B Unit on July 31, 1992 after removal of refrigerators, toilets, and cab seats. A renumbering would occur again on October 23, 2002 when all cab equipment was replaced becoming UP 8952 SD40-2 and finally UP 3203 SD40-2 on April 22, 2014. Currently this Mopac veteran is assigned to UP's Davidson Yard wearing the lightning stripe scheme and a large dent on the fuel tank from a sideswiping. |
