Idling in Miller Yard, this Cotton Belt B40-8 sits on recently rebuilt and repainted trucks in addition to two freshly painted doors below the walkway. Delivered to SSW as 8078 in May 1989 this locomotive joined the Union Pacific roster as 1876, never being assigned a 5600 series number. In January 2013 1876 was retired by Union Pacific wearing full UP paint after 25 years of service, having spent it's years under the UP flag in and out of storage. |
