Looking great in BNSF H3 paint, this old EMD was originally delivered to Southern Railway as SD35 3096 in December 1965. Norfolk Southern retired this locomotive as NS 3096 which was picked up by VMV and became VMVX 2600. This locomotive was then rebuilt and sent to Burlington Northern as SD38P 6264 then entered BNSF wearing the same number. After the merger this diesel wore BNSF 1804 then finally 1554. Note the screen over the air intake grill behind the cab. |
