UPY 1428 |
| Description: |
Delivered to Milwaukee Road as MP15AC 444 in January 1976, this switcher became Soo 1510 when the former merged into the latter. In December 1993 Union Pacific took possession of this Milwaukee veteran becoming UP 1428 until being reassigned to UP Yard and renumbered UPY 1428 in May 2001. UP considers this unit an MP15N after wiring upgrades, unfortunetly this did not include a trip to the paint booth. |

A freshly painted MP15AC idles at the Davidson Yard ready tracks after being serviced and is ready for the next assignment. Delivered to Southern Pacific as SP 2708 MP15AC in August 1975, this switcher would keep the same number until November 19, 2001 when it was patched UPY 1437. On October 6, 2010, UPY 1437 rolled out of the paint booth at North Little Rock fully repainted in Armor Yellow and Harbor Mist Gray. |

This former SP MP15AC wears an MP15N designation on the cabside after the addition of NEXIS control system. Aside from control system upgrades, no other changes are made to the locomotive (to my knowledge) but the fresh paint does look quite nice. |
