SP 9775 |
Description: |
A Southern Pacific GP60 idles in UP's Centennial Yard waiting to be assigned to an outbound freight. In this photo 9775 is nearing her fourth birthday and still looks pretty nice after nearly three years of hard usage under the Espee flag. This locomotive would remain on the UP roster and be renumbered 2074 along with a full repaint to Armor yellow. |

SP 9793 |
Description: |
This is the second to the last GP60 built for a US railroad and second to the last B-B locomotive built new by EMD (GP20Ds don't count!) for a freight railroad. Next to Santa Fe's GP60M fleet, this is the next best looking GP60. |

SP 9794 |
Description: |
Lately a lot of unpatched SP power has been showing up in Fort Worth. SP 9794 is especially special, this is the last true GP built for a US railroad (GP20Ds don't count!) as well as the highest numbered (and last) GP60 on the SP roster. UP 2004 is the locomotive that sholdn't be, this locomotive is either SP 9701 or 9704 but I've not had any luck locating frame information. Can anyone shed some light? |

SP 9794 |
Description: |
SP 9794 GP60 idles at a red signal with a southbound manifest bound for nearby Fort Worth. This faded locomotive is significant in several ways. It is the highest numbered (and last GP60) on the Espee roster, the last GP60 built, and the final domestic General Purpose (GP) locomotive built new by Electro-Motive. On September 18, 2013, SP 9794 fell under the Union Pacific flag and was patched UP 1015. |
