DGNO 3368 SD40-2 waits for the next unit rock train ready to be hauled out of the quarry in Melissa. Delivered to Burlington Northern as C&S 7915 SD40-2 in June 1979, this EMD would become BN 7915 once Colorado & Southern was folded into Burlington Northern in 1981. This unit would become BNSF 7915 and given a full H1 repaint before retirement on November 18, 2008 and returned to it's lessor. Helm would place this unit in their lease fleet as HLCX 7915 in patched H1 paint until purchased by GWI and assigned to Dallas, Garland, and Northeastern, arriving on the railroad in June 2013 as DGNO 3368 SD40-2. |

As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, three Dallas, Garland, and Northeastern locomotives run light past Cadiz Yard on the Union Pacific main. DGNO 3416 SD40-2 was originally constructed for Burlington Northern and reached DGNO by way of Helm. DGNO 3417 was constructed for Santa Fe as an SD45 but was rebuilt and is now an SD40M-2. DGNO 2002 3GS21C was originally constructed for Union Pacific as an SD24 and after rebuilding by Illinois Central into an SD20 was rebuilt again for DGNO as a Genset. |
