UPY 855
Title:  UPY 855
Description:  I captured this same locomotive in nearly the exact same spot in March 2011 and nearly three years later 855 is still at work in Davidson Yard but now in fresh paint. Built for Missouri Pacific as an SD40-2 then rebuilt as a de-turbocharged SD38-2 and used in yard service.

UPY 855
Title:  UPY 855
Description:  UPY 855 was delivered to Missouri Pacific as an SD40-2 but the lack of dynamic brakes made this locomotive unsuitable for UP's mountainous terrain. Instead of being removed from the roster UP rebuilt this EMD into an SD38-2 along with several other former Mopac SD40-2s and assigned them to yard and hump duty. In this photo a former SD40-2 turned SD38-2 and an SD60 combine their 5,800 horsepower to move a long line of freight cars in Davidson Yard.
