| Description: |
Delivered new to Missouri Kansas Texas as GP40 198 in August 1968, this locomotive entered the Union Pacific fleet in 1988 and became UP 504 on July 27,1990. On October 9, 1992, UP retired this GP40 and later sold it to RailTex which sent the 504 to Missouri & North Arkansas as MNA 4003. Recently assigned to DGNO, this old timer is at Mercer Yard undergoing mechanical work partially disassembled. Note the dent above the radiator intake, a scar from an accident on MNA in 2004. The step well damage is from an unknown incident on DGNO. |
