Delivered to UP as SD40-2 3531 in February 1979, this unit spent it's entire career working for Union Pacific before entering UP's North Little Rock Jenks Shop for rebuilding. On March 4, 2013, 3531 emerged as SD40N 1782 and four months after rebuilding is still looking fresh from rebuilding. I never thought I'd be excited about seeing an SD40-2 much less photographing one. |
