This C44-9W was delivered to BNSF wearing Warbonnet paint in October 1997 but wrecked on May 12, 2010 at Wind River Canyon, WY. While leading a BNSF train this diesel struck a rockslide and overturned, sliding down an embankment until ending partially submerged in Wind River. Fortunetly there were no fatalities or serious injuries to the crew. |
