Delivered to Western Maryland as SD40 WM 7471 in August 1966, under the Chessie System flag this SD40 would become WM 7571 and after the Chessie-Seaboard System merger would become CSX 8422. In 1991 this SD40 was sold to Morrison-Knudsen and rebuilt emerging as MKCX 9044 SD40M-2 then later sold to Helm as HLCX 9044. Helm would later sell this SD40M-2 to Georges Creek Railroad in West Virginia as GCK 7471. |
