MDLX 172
Title:  MDLX 172
Description:  MDLX 172 SW9 absorbs the bright Texas sun during a layover in UP's Davidson Yard. Delivered to Atlantic Coast Line as ACL 690 in October 1951 this switcher would become SCL 172 SW9 after the Seaboard-Atlantic Coast Line merger of 1967. After departing the SCL roster Coors Brewing acquired this unit, gave it bright red with dip job with yellow frame stripes and a cab mounted beacon then assigned it to the Elkton, VA plant. Now free from the Coors plant, this switcher was spotted during transit to the Buzzi Unicem cement plant in West Dallas as MDLX 172.
