Title:  HLCX 2582
Description:  Delivered to Louisville & Nashville as L&N 4072 GP38-2 in September 1972 becoming Seaboard System (SBD) 4072 in January 1983 then renumbered SBD 2582 a year later. With the Chessie System/Seaboard System merger this diesel would become CSX 2582 in April 1986 then sold to Helm Leasing in February 1998 then rebuilt by Metro East Industries intended for Southern Pacific as SP 4847 but completed as Union Pacific 1973. Union Pacific took delivery of this unit on February 19, 1998, renumbered UP 473 on June 27, 2001, then retired on October 13, 2003. In this photo HLCX is being serviced after delivering a Southern Pacific train to Miller Yard in South Dallas.

NRL 3000
Title:  NRL 3000
Description:  Delivered to Union Pacific as SD40 3000 in March 1966, working for UP until being retired on February 9, 1987. This diesel was sold to National Railway Equipment as NHL 3000 in November 1987 but in this photo the stencil has been changed fron NHL to NRL. This diesel would later be sold to Morrison-Knudsen as MKCX 9403 in 1994 then rebuilt for Southern Pacific as SD40M-2 8625 released on February 24, 1995. After the UP-SP merger this unit would be renumbered first to UP 4651 then to UP 2705 until being retired on February 23, 2010. In this photo NRL 3000 is idling in SP Miller Yard in South Dallas while on lease to Espee, this unit would become an SP unit, then return to the UP roster, then get retired by UP for the second time.

Title:  SP 2700
Description:  Delivered to Southern Pacific as MP15DC 2700 in January 1975 this is the only one of the twelve MP15DCs on the SP roster to receive the SPSF merger paint. This switcher would keep this paint scheme well into the UP era being patched first to UP 1298 in January 1997 then to UPY 1298 in March 2000. On March 11, 2002 UPY 1298 was retired, current whereabouts unknown. Most likely scrapped.

DGNO 3081
Title:  DGNO 3081
Description:  Delivered to Baltimore & Ohio as B&O GP40 3723 in March 1969, to GATX 3723, rebuilt for Burlington Northern as GP40G 3081 in June 1989 then retired by BN less than three years later in February 1992. This unit would work for DGNO keeping the BN assigned number, then to Missouri & Northern Arkansas as MNA 3081, and finally ending her career on Central Oregon & Pacific as CORP 3081. In June 1996 CORP 3081 and CORP 1353 were involved in a derailment in Weed, CA which resulted in both units being scrapped. In this photo DGNO 3081 is getting some attention at the company depot in Garland still wearing Cascade Green with a small DGNO patch on the cab and logo on the nose.

Description:  Delivered to Chicago Burlington & Quincy as Colorado & Southern SD45 868 in October 1971, to Burlington Northern as BN/CS 6570, to NHL 6570, to MKCX 9527. This SD45 would later be sold to Helm and rebuilt and returned to lease duties as HLCX 6520 SD40M-2. In this photo MKCX 9527 is heading to the Miller Yard servicing tracks after delivering a train to Southern Pacific's Miller Yard in South Dallas.

Description:  A speed lettered SD45T-2 idles at the Miller Yard fuel pad while being serviced and readied for the next outbound train. This locomotive would have a long career in the Dallas area after leaving the UP roster becoming CEFX 9373 and placed on long term lease with Dallas, Garland, and Northeastern. In late 2013 after suffering a broken crankshaft this EMD was sold as MVPX 9373 and shipped off to be scrapped.

Title:  HLCX 803
Description:  Delivered to Seaboard Air Line as SAL 650 GP40 in February 1967 becoming Seaboard Coast Line SCL 1565 GP40 in July 1967 then entering Seaboard System (SBD) keeping the same number. Seaboard System would renumber this GP40 to 6720 before the CSX merger but would keep this number afterward. CSX sold this GP40 to Helm who then had it rebuild and repainted emerging as HATX 803 GP40-3 and after spending a few years in the lease pool this EMD would be sold to Webb Asset Management and currently works as WAMX 4047. In this photo HATX 803 is waiting to pass through the UP Centennial Yard service shop after delivering a train.

Retired by ATSF on July 19, 1991 then sold to RailTex in October of the same year and sent to Texas & New Mexico as TNMR 2234, to DGNO 701, WTLC 701, then sold to Santa Fe Southern initially with no change to the reporting marks. Current status unknown.

Description:  Delivered in March 1969 to Baltimore & Ohio as GP40 3729 and returned to GATX upon lease expiration on May 17, 1984 keeping the B&O assigned number. GATX leased this Geep to Canadian Pacific from 1984 to 1989 then sold it to Morrison Knudsen in 1991. MK rebuilt this unit and released it as a GP40-3 on January 24, 1994 as MKCX 4301 and placed in the lease pool until purchased by Roberval & Saguenay as 67 and rebuilt by Alstom Canada into a GP38-2 on October 27, 2000.

Title:  KRR 701
Description:  A wayward Kiamichi Railroad GP7 has wandered into UP's Centennial Yard in Fort Worth, perhaps homesick. Delivered to Union Pacific as UP 700 GP7 in February 1953 then renumbered UP 100 eight months later then retired on August 8, 1978. In April 1979 UP 100 was sold to Bargains Galore (seriously) then XTRA purchased this Geep and sold it to LaSalle & Bureau County as LSBC 100, then was sold to Texas-Northwestern keeping the same number, then to Kiamichi as KRR 701. Texas North Orient later purchased this unit, then was sold once more to Transglobal Rail in May 1998 keeping 701 as the number.

Description:  Delivered to Western Maryland as SD40 WM 7471 in August 1966, under the Chessie System flag this SD40 would become WM 7571 and after the Chessie-Seaboard System merger would become CSX 8422. In 1991 this SD40 was sold to Morrison-Knudsen and rebuilt emerging as MKCX 9044 SD40M-2 then later sold to Helm as HLCX 9044. Helm would later sell this SD40M-2 to Georges Creek Railroad in West Virginia as GCK 7471.

Purchased by Illinois Central Gulf for rebuilding as an SD20 and released ICG 2017, after Illinois Central dropped Gulf this SD20 became IC 2017, then was later purchased by National Railway Equipment and numbered NREX 2017. Sold to Indiana Harbor Belt and currently works as IHB 2920 in full IHB paint. In this photo NREX 2017 is taking a break in KCS Dallas Yard after delivering a train.

Description:  A filthy EMD GP60 still in demonstrator paint rolls towards the fuel tracks after delivering a train to SP's Miller Yard in South Dallas. After her demonstrating career was over this GP60 would become part of the Locomotive Leasing Partners fleet as LLPX 6003 then purchased by CSX where this diesel works today as 6899 keeping the distinctive angular cab.
